Nomofomo is a mobile app for people to search for things to do in New York City. Users can search by date, event type, and location. This app is targeted for people who don't want to miss out any ongoing trendy things to do in the city. No more fear of missing out!

Role
Logo design | Visual design | UI/UX design | Branding

Research
To have a better understanding on the target users, I started with researching on user demographics and psychographics, interviewing potential users, then created user personas. Other than that, I also did research on existing similar apps or websites to get inspirations and learn from the best. Next I consolidated the findings as a guide for later design process use.

Navigation Mapping
I first listed out all the contents of the app, mapped out the structural listing of the app. Next I used a stack of cards as non visual paper prototype, each resembling a screen/step. I then sat with three users to tested the interaction. Then I consolidated the results and revised the the user experience mapping.

Wireframing
Based on the interaction map I created wireframes, building UI structures of each screen. Then I used these low fidelity prototypes to show target users again for feedbacks, then studied the findings to make adjustments on the flow.

Branding and UI components
I used Pinterest for inspiration searching, then created a collage as mood board.
Next, I sketched out logo and UI components on Illustrator.
This app is targeted mainly for people in New York City. Inspired by the lights in the big city, I used dark color as the background, contrasting neon green as the lime lights in the city as theme colors, representing the urban chic vibe, also makes users associate fun night life in the city.

Prototyping
I used Adobe XD to create high fidelity prototypes.
After the prototypes are created, they are represented on physical mobile phones to show the usability testing. This allows the users to get a feel of user experience that's closest to the actual product.

Users can either create their own accounts or sign in with facebook or google account. If users forgot their account name or password, they can choose to verify by phone number or email.
Once logged in, it will take the user to the home screen, showing the featured events based on the users interests.

Search
Users can use the search icon to search by different ways - by date, by location, by category or by key words.
As for search by location, users can search events based on current location, or choose from map, or type in location name.

Add to Fave
Once users see interested events, they can hit the heart by the corner of the event listing. They can later find a list of events they hearted under Fave.

Tix
Once users purchased or registered admission to events, the registration or tickets will be under Tix. That makes it easy for the users to find or organize their tickets.
